Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble and they were all very cheerful with happy, smiling faces.

We weren't in Cork long enough but we did hire a car and went to Cobh and Kinsale before setting off for Killarney.

breakfast for me could have been better but they will cook the food how you like but prefer to pick and choose rather than it come on the plate ready.

Comment
The hotel is very grand and victorian, clean and service excellent. The only problem is that it is on a very steep hill, and although only young ourselves we did require a taxi for any return trips back up the hill - cost about £4 average.

Freeport Cafe excellent meal - large portions for £8 av. couldn't eat a pudding on top!
Cork Arms - very friendly bar - very small and irish - to meet the locals and get the info on where to go in Cork.
Doplphin boat trip ( off Lapps Quay )- most fun you can have on water - all brand new in 2008 approx. £28 for 2 hours would recommend again and again!

Negatives - Pillows hard, background music depressing/ austere.
Positives - Night porter, nice and warm, decent breakfast.

Dining @ Greyhound racing is superb. Excellent night out, even for novices like us.
